Fuction:is a rule in set of ordered pairs which relates two sets such that to each element of one set, there is only one element of the second set. Fuction is denoted by small letter, eg. f(x), g(x), c(x) and etc. Example 01. Evaluate f(x) =x+6 ,x=2. Solution. f(x)=x+6 ,x=2 f(2)= 2+6 f(2)=8 Therefero f(2)=8 Example 02: solve for e(x) =x sq +x+9, x =8 solution. e(x)= x sq+x+9. e(8) = 8(8) +8 + 9. e(8) = 64 +8+9 e(8) = 81 Therefore e(8) = 81. Qns: calculate f(-2) = x sq + 49 no.02: A function f is defined by f(x) = x sq +6 and g(x) is another function of x such that, g(x) = f(x) - f(4) \x -4. find g(-4). No.03: gíven that f(-3) = x+5 - 6 and c(5) = x -30, find [f(-3) (f(5)-6]. Ans 01: f(-2) =53. 02: g(-4) =0. 03:[f(-3)f(5)-6] = 124.
